Young Cody Currie made a blissful debut on Classic in 2018 with his EP ‘Ode To Eddy’, now the vinyl only release receives its highly-anticipated digital outing. Following covetable releases on Razor-N-Tape, Pulse Records and Better Listen, the budding London DJ and producer demonstrates his deep and jazzy style in the release, expanding on his usual creative use of sampling by introducing his own vocals and live keys. Title track ‘Ode To Eddy’ echoes fellow Classic artist Folamour, with blissed-out synths and syncopated drum work creating an irresistible lilting beat. It’s followed by ‘Never Alone’ which loops the vocal over a shuffling melodic groove and ‘I Don’t Feel’ that has hints of acidity. This release is a supremely promising introduction to an intuitive artist, and after the well justified praise for the vinyl outing last year – it’s one you don’t want to miss.
