Following contributions from Matt Tolfrey and Horse Meat Disco's Severino, Classic once again throws open it's vaults for a new 'Classic Through The Eyes Of...' compilation/mix, this time handled by Zombie Disco Squad. Zombie Disco Squad initially rose to prominence off the back of London parties and online mixes before being snapped up by the likes of Made to Play and Jackmode for his off-centre house stylings. Since then, remixes for Groove Armada, Cajmere, Uffi and Brodinksi have propelled the Zombie Disco Squad to an enviable status in modern house while his 'Brains' LP in 2012 also won critical acclaim. Here, Zombie Disco Squad is tasked with delving into the formidable Classic catalogue, picking the likes of Rob Mello, Rekid and Roy Davis Jr and working them into a mix while also turning in exclusive new remixes of Luke Solomon's vintage Jean Caffeine alias, Induceve's 'Time to Begin' and Style of Eye's 'Back Then'. With Classic in fine fettle and full swing, it's unsurprising to see new Classic material from MarcAshken and Justin Martin & Sammy D featured amongst older material but it's a testament to Classic's A&R men (Luke Solomon & Derrick Carter) and the deft touch of Zombie Disco Squad that the flow and feel of the mix never jars. Throughout the mix, the order of the day is jittering, space age funk and whether it's light and playful like Prztz 'Phonk Promises' and Nail's 'Slap My Ass', or moody and dominating like Claude Von Stroke's version of 'Cats and Dogs' or the new remix of Induceve's 'Time to Begin', there's a cohesive and engaging dancefloor focus.
